Was just talking with someone yesterday about authenticity in relationships. This pretty much sums it up!
Many relationships go "stale" due to a stifling of authenticity. We work so hard over so many years to be who we think we're supposed be, and forget or neglect who we really are.
Don't lose the passion in your life by failing to be your authentic self, in all ways!

There's lots of good stuff in here.
I see this a lot with some of my clients as they struggle with their personal growth and how that does or doesn't fit into the expectations of others and the life they are currently living, or have created.
We are all born with a gift, and that gift isn't about something you do, it's about being who you are, and who you were born to be.
Who you are is allowed to change as you grow and discover and live your life wide open.
Happy new year to all of you out there, and may this year be the year you live in love, and not fear, and honor not only who you are, but who you were born to be in this incredible and short life we have all been blessed with. ❤

''I think midlife is when the universe gently places her hands upon your shoulders, pulls you close, and whispers in your ear:
I’m not screwing around. It’s time. All of this pretending and performing – these coping mechanisms that you’ve developed to protect yourself from feeling inadequate and getting hurt – has to go.
Your armor is preventing you from growing into your gifts. I understand that you needed these protections when you were small. I understand that you believed your armor could help you secure all of the things you needed to feel worthy of love and belonging, but you’re still searching and you’re more lost than ever.
Time is growing short. There are unexplored adventures ahead of you. You can’t live the rest of your life worried about what other people think. You were born worthy of love and belonging. Courage and daring are coursing through you. You were made to live and love with your whole heart. It’s time to show up and be seen.''

"Society assumes that everyone has a conscience and the ability to empathize."
An excellent article which accurately describes the narcissist/victim relationship quite well.

Trust is an integral component of relationships, and for some reason people believe that they have to re-learn how to do it again and again and again...
But there is nothing to learn.
It's simply a matter of recognizing and remembering that trust is your true nature, and is at the foundation of all of life.

Authenticity is something that I alway focus on in my coaching. I cannot stress how important it is to having healthy relationships and a happy life. It all starts with being honest with ourselves and who we are, and moving outwards into the world from that place.
"When we show up for things out of duty rather than desire, guilt rather than truth, telling someone what they want to hear, rather than what we really want to say. Acting in ways that feel disconnected, but meant to please. We are living inauthentically. We want approval."
Stop bending yourself for other people, and live your life authentic and true to who you are.

I came across this article today and felt that I had to share it. It's very well written and tackles a subject, and a belief, that a lot of people in bad relationships have:
That it's better to "stay together for the kids."
My personal opinion is that it never is, and this article succinctly states why using your kids as a scapegoat for your fears is never a good parenting choice.

Like that frog in hot water, you may not even recognize you are there before it's too late.
This is a very well written article, and shows the mindset and ways that an abused person will convince themselves that they are not in an abusive relationship. Things like telling themselves that "Pushing isn't hitting."
I've even had someone tell me, "He didn't hit me. He punched me. It's different".
Heed your instincts and your unhappiness and get out as soon as you can.

The new year so far has been all about transition and potential. And it's easy to worry about loss and failure and have it derail us off of the course that we truly desire in our heart. But loss is not something we can ever avoid and when seen in it's truth, it shows us how to live.
