SANTIAGO VILLA

At the heart of Santiago Villa is the resting space — an expansive bedroom designed as a quiet retreat where simplicity and craftsmanship coexist. Softly carved bent wood, sculptural wall elements, and a refined wood ceiling define the space, balancing modern sensibilities with natural materials in a grounded expression rather than excessive grandeur.

The bathroom continues this language through sculpted wood details and a statement bathtub. A separate enclosed toilet ensures privacy within the same calm atmosphere, while an open shower connects directly to nature, extending the space into nature.

SANTIAGO VILLA

The intent for this space is an open-plan layout anchored by a sunken living area, creating a continuous visual connection throughout the interior. An exposed truss ceiling above the living area supports natural ventilation and emphasizes the tropical character of the space. Expansive windows shift the focus outward to nature, while an integrated shelving feature in the living area frames the view beyond, completing the spatial narrative.

SANTIAGO VILLA

A modern Balinese-inspired resort villa envisioned as a private tropical sanctuary, where the design is rooted in the seamless connection between nature and indoor living. Every space is carefully composed to allow guests to experience the calm, light, and sensory richness of the outdoors while remaining within the secure and intimate boundaries of the villa.

The villa opens to an indoor pool finished with Sukabumi tiles, reflecting the soft tones of a natural lagoon. With daylight filtering in, the water, surrounding landscape, and subtle textures blend together that gently sets the tone for the rest of the villa.

Redefining Compact Luxury

One of the project’s greatest strengths lies in its spatial efficiency—transforming a compact footprint into a serene, hotel-like retreat. Its lighting is deliberately designed to highlight and define each zone of the room without creating visual clutter. Inspired by hotel interiors, the lighting strategy focuses on mood and warmth, ensuring a sense of comfort and relaxation throughout the space.

This project shows how architectural thinking can elevate short-term rental design. By prioritizing comfort, functionality, and experience, the space successfully bridges the gap between home and hotel—a reminder that great design isn’t about size, but about intention.
