Norberg Hall is a commercial gallery in Calgary with a focus on contemporary Canadian art; featuring prominent emerging, mid-career & established artists.
Jarvis Hall and Shannon Norberg are proud to reveal the renaming of Jarvis Hall Gallery to Norberg Hall. As partners in business as well as in life, this name merger was a natural progression for the galleryโs identity and for their shared artistic vision. Ahead of this shift, the overarching principles of the gallery remain the same. From the galleryโs inception in 2010, founded by Jarvis Hall, and continuing over the past decade alongside Norberg, they have re-envisioned the possibilities of what commercial contemporary art galleries can be for artists, collectors and the vibrant Canadian arts community they value. Their desire for a strong visual culture and passion for gender equity has played an integral part in the shaping of the Norberg Hall and its programming. Throughout the years, Norberg Hall has actively supported the practices of emerging, mid-career and established artists to foster a deeper understanding of their creative processes, while providing a platform and space to share these critical dialogs. Working alongside artists, curators, museums, institutions, corporate and private collectors, they have proudly helped place work in prominent collections and institutions across the country. Through active representation, ongoing exhibitions, international art fairs, studio tours, and community liaisons, Norberg Hall will continue to champion Canadian art in Alberta and beyond. Norberg Hall is a member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada and the Canadian Museum Association.

Carrie Allison (nรชhiรฝaw/Mรฉtis/mixed European descent and member of the Manitoba Mรฉtis Federation) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Kโjipuktuk, Miโkmaโki (Halifax, Nova Scotia). She was the 2020 recipient of the Melissa Levin Award from the Textile Museum of Canada and was long listed for the 2024 and 2021 Sobey Art Award. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Franchesca Hebert-Spence (Anishinaabe) is the inaugural Curator of Indigenous Ceramics at the Gardiner Museum, and has had major curatorial roles in galleries across Canada.โฃ

Made with silk-chiffon, the performers inside are visible to audiences, allowing all aspects of their synchronized and negotiated movement seen. Prancing, scrutinizing and playing the fool, ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ค๐ feeds into Mullocks ongoing interest into puppetry, natural dye processes and the fascinating history of pantomime horses in theatre, ballet, films, childrenโs TV shows. โฃ

As part of my recent Despairware series of figurines inspired by 19th century Staffordshire figurines, books of demonology, and deeply personal memories of my childhood in the Canadian hinterland, Green River re-imagines the commonly depicted image of young lovers. It reimagines this traditional pastoral image to one celebrating the strong and complex bonds of adolescent girls through infusing the image with my own memories of tripping out in the woods naked with my girlfriends when I was a teen suggesting an alternative feminist idea of the Canadian pastoral. โฃ

Incubated during a month-long residency in November 2025 at Medalta, a historic industrial ceramics complex in Medicine Hat, ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐๐ข๐บ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด draws inspiration from historic parting rituals in which songs, camaraderie, and a final drink were shared amongst departing guests.โฃ

Reimagined as an improvised feminist ritual, ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐๐ข๐บ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด takes the form of a ceremonial tea-drinking and cake-eating performance using handmade ceramic vessels, spoken word and costumes. โฃ

Through these acts, ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐๐ข๐บ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด reinterprets historical ritual practices through a feminist lens, transforming drinking from a site of excess into one of agency, communion, and shared authorship.โฃ

At its heart ๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐๐ข๐บ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด is a celebration of the creative community, an offering that recognizes the value of gathering, collaboration, and the act of making meaning together.
