Join us in welcoming your 2026/2027 BILD Calgary Region Foundation Board of Governors!

BILD Calgary Region Foundation was incorporated in 1986. Its focus is community related, including community spaces, shelter and more.

BILD Calgary Region Foundation shares membership with BILD Calgary Region. Governors are elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting. The Foundation is a separate legal identity from BILD Calgary Region, although the two share many goals and resources, and the Foundation is the charity of choice for the industry.

Since its inception, the Foundation has given over $8 million to the communities we live in.

In addition to funds raised through various events and initiatives annually, the Foundation is able to provide additional support for projects through in-kind donations from our membership, including materials, labour and other donated services.

The next event for the BILD Calgary Region Foundation is coming up shortly in August when the organization hosts its annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament on August 27th at the beautiful Priddis Greens G&CC.

BILD Calgary Region is excited to announce Christopher Richer, Senior Vice President, Land and Development - Alberta Homes, Brookfield YYC , as the Chair of the Board of Directors for 2026/2027.
 
Chris brings extensive leadership experience with Brookfield Residential, where he has spent close to 15 years playing a key role in the company’s Land and Development division. Over the course of his career, he has helped shape several of Calgary’s most notable communities, including Rockland Park, Seton, Starling, and Livingston. Chris has served on the BILD Calgary Region Board of Directors for the past three years.

This industry plays a vital role in shaping the future of our communities, and I am proud to represent an association whose members are committed to building the homes, neighbourhoods, and infrastructure our region needs. The year ahead presents both challenges and opportunities. By working collaboratively with our members, municipal partners, and industry stakeholders, we can continue to advance solutions that support housing affordability, improve the development process, and strengthen the communities we help create. I look forward to working alongside our Board, Governors, committees, staff, and membership as we continue to advocate for our industry and deliver value to those we serve.”
 
Outside of his work in the industry, Chris has volunteered for over 15 years with Homefront Calgary as a Past Chair and Board Member. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling and cycling.

Membership Recognition & Volunteer Awards🏆

On June 18, we gathered at the Calgary Zoo for BILD Calgary Region’s Membership Appreciation Event, and it was a genuine pleasure to thank the people who keep this association moving.

This event recognizes both the critical role BILD members play in the advocacy, events, and programs our association delivers, and the individual volunteers who sit on our committees, lend a hand at our events, and advocate for residential construction all year long. It has been a record stretch for our industry here in Calgary, and none of that momentum happens without people willing to give their time. This was our afternoon to say thank you in person.

On Saturday, Matt & Julianna from the BILD team had the great honour of attending Morrison Homes’ 65th Anniversary celebration👏🏡

have been long-standing members of BILD Calgary Region, supporting the association through committee involvement, sponsorship, and industry advocacy for decades — a testament to their enduring commitment to the Calgary Region and industry as a whole.

It was wonderful to see Chairman, Al Morrison, his mother Irene Morrison at 102 years young and looking stunning, and other members of the Morrison family at the event — a lovely reminder of the family spirit behind this incredible company.

Congratulations to the entire Morrison Homes team on this incredible milestone. Here’s to many more decades of building great homes & communities together!
