Sam Bell Inspired
Welcome to the work of Sam Bell! Coach, Educator, Healer. Speaker, Writer, Podcaster. Overachiever. Good. Bad. Otherwise. No more wheel spinning. No more STUCK!
I’m a big dreamer obsessed with puppies, cats, chocolate, travel, and sunshine. I put my crystals out on a full moon and am happiest walking barefoot in nature. I believe EVERY WOMAN deserves the opportunity to achieve her FULLEST POTENTIAL and that our soul’s wisdom lies within the relationship we have with our mothers. My SUPERPOWER is helping women like YOU become the best version of themselves while pursuing the kind of life they actually want! Life is too damn short! Seeing people SUCCEED whilst doing what they LOVE fires me up! We only have one life and heck, we need to LIVE it, with reckless abandon! That’s the version of life I am living and the one I want to help you live too!

Some days, healing looks a lot less like doing all the “right” things… and a lot more like simply resting. ❤️
I’ve been a little under the weather, and today I’m reminded that sometimes the best medicine isn’t something you can pick up at the pharmacy.
It’s Purrcey curling up beside me. 🐾
It’s flowers from a friend, arriving at exactly the right moment. 💐
It’s a quiet house, a warm blanket, and permission to just BE.
There is something so beautiful about being cared for when you’re not feeling your best.
No fixing.
No expectations.
Just love, cuddles and little reminders that you’re not alone.
Today, I’m resting, receiving, and letting myself heal.
And apparently, Purrcey has officially appointed himself Head of Nursing. 😂🐈⬛
Sometimes the simplest things really are the most healing.

All a girl needs for healing is a German Shepherd. ❤️ Dexter von Janzhause
No complicated plan. No perfect words. No fixing.
Just a warm, furry shadow who somehow knows exactly when your heart needs a little extra care.
Dexter doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t need explanations. He simply climbs a little closer, rests his head on me, and reminds me to slow down, breathe, and be present.
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, be more, and carry more, there is something profoundly healing about unconditional love wrapped in four paws and a squishy face.
Today, healing looks like coffee, quiet moments, and German Shepherd cuddles.
And honestly? That’s enough.

There is something beautifully humbling about taking Burnout to Joy to the Canadian Nurses Association Conference while quietly continuing my own recovery journey.
The truth is that burnout is rarely just about work.
As nurses, we often talk about staffing shortages, workload pressures, and the emotional demands of caring for others. These are very real contributors. But what I’ve learned—both personally and professionally—is that unresolved personal trauma can also play a significant role in professional burnout.
When we’ve spent a lifetime caring for others, putting ourselves last, pushing through exhaustion, or carrying wounds we never had the opportunity to heal, the demands of healthcare can become even heavier.
As I prepare to present Reigniting Purpose: Joy-Centred Wellbeing for Sustainable Nursing in Winnipeg, I do so not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who understands the journey.
Burnout to Joy was born from my own experiences in healthcare and my belief that healing is possible. Not overnight. Not perfectly. But one step, one boundary, one breath, and one act of self-compassion at a time.
Today, I am grateful to share this message with nurses from across Canada and to be part of a growing conversation that recognizes wellbeing as essential—not optional.
Because when we heal ourselves, we strengthen our ability to care for others.

Four years.
After many years of no contact, my sister and I found our way back to each other. At the time, no contact was the healthiest choice I could make, and I have never regretted honouring what I needed to heal.
But life has a way of writing new chapters.
This photo was taken during my recent four-week trip home to the UK, and as I look at it, I’m filled with gratitude for the relationship we have rebuilt over the past four years. It isn’t about pretending the past didn’t happen. It’s about choosing to move forward with understanding, compassion, and a deeper appreciation for the time we have together.
Losing our daddy changed so much. Yet somehow, in his absence, there has also been space for reconnection, healing, laughter, and joy.
Relationships can be complicated. Families can be messy. Healing is rarely linear. But sometimes, if both hearts are willing, a new chapter can emerge that is even more meaningful than the one before.
Today I’m celebrating four years of contact, four years of rebuilding trust, and four years of making new memories together.
And for that, I am incredibly grateful. ❤️

Over the past little while, I’ve been a little quieter than usual.
The truth is, I’ve been taking some time to focus on my own healing.
As someone who spends so much of my life supporting others, I was reminded that healing isn’t something we simply teach—it’s something we must continue to choose for ourselves. Sometimes that means slowing down, creating space, and allowing ourselves the grace to rest, reflect, and simply be.
I am incredibly grateful for the amazing friends who have checked in, listened without judgement, made me laugh, shared a cup of tea (or a glass of w**e!), walked beside me, and reminded me that I don’t have to do everything alone. Your kindness has meant more than you’ll ever know.
Healing isn’t linear. It isn’t always visible. But every small step forward is still progress.
There are some big shifts happening. Changes in direction. Extricating myself from things that no longer align with my own joy. It’s a process. One I coach but realize I seldom practice…
I’m beginning to feel hopeful, stronger, and more aligned with who I am becoming. And, as always, this journey only deepens my passion for helping other women reconnect with themselves and rediscover their own joy.
If you’re in a season where life feels heavy, please know this: it’s okay to pause. It’s okay to ask for support. And it’s okay to choose yourself 🥰
