BEYOND THE RESUME: Advancing Equitable Workforce Integration in Alberta
A Community Workshop on Employment Rights

Through interactive, case-based group discussions, participants will explore real-life employment challenges experienced by newcomers and internationally trained professionals, discuss their impacts, and work together to identify practical and policy-level solutions.

HSRS has just completed a project called Memory to Melody. Through this project, 24 older adults shared their stories, memories, and life experiences, which were transformed into songs with the support of AI technology. My song is one of those creations.
Today marks the first anniversary of my mother's passing.
In her loving memory, I would like to share a song that I wrote to express how much I miss her. I dedicate this song to my beloved mother, whose love, care, and memories continue to inspire me every day.
Special thanks to Bruce Callow, Music Consultant, for helping bring these stories and memories to life through music.

Proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week 2026 with our amazing volunteers, partners, and community members.

HSRS successfully celebrated National Volunteer Week 2026 on May 2 at Dalhousie Community Association, Calgary.

This meaningful event was supported by Volunteer Alberta and organized in collaboration with Volunteer Connector, with support from our community partners CRESS, Hope for Newcomers, and Kids Future First.

We were honored to hear inspiring remarks from Honorable MLA & Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism Md Yaseen and the President of the Lions Club. The event also highlighted volunteer engagement, youth participation, and the launch of HSRS’s Volunteer Screening Policy.

A heartfelt thank you to all HSRS volunteers, partners, speakers, youth, and community members for making this celebration successful.
