New terrain, same commitment. 🌊
Members of our ground search team braved the chilly conditions last weekend to complete a 2-day Swift Water Rescue course. Training started with personal safety and self-rescue fundamentals before building into equipment use and team-based rescue techniques. This kind of hands-on training is what keeps us ready to respond, whatever the conditions.

Our team hit the streets for the Chestermere Parade this weekend — connecting with families along the route and handing out plenty of smiles. Events like this are a big part of who we are. Before anyone ever needs us, we want them to know we're here.

Then it was an early start in the mountains Sunday, helping with traffic control for the Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon — keeping runners safe and vehicles moving so everyone could focus on the finish line. 🏅🏅

Last weekend, CALSARA members had the chance to meet the amazing pups and teams at the scent trials run by Nosey Barkers and hosted by YYC Closets & Glass.

Thanks to the generosity of the trial competitors, organizers, and hosts, a donation of $665 was presented to Calgary Search and Rescue ! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, donated, and supported CALSARA. As a fully self-funded volunteer organization, every dollar helps keep our teams trained, equipped, and mission-ready.

Over the past 10 days, our members have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown by the Calgary community.

From offering cold drinks and snacks to words of encouragement as our members worked, your generosity has meant more than you know. Our members have logged and incredible number of hours on this search and many kilometres on their boots searching, those simple acts of kindness helped keep our teams going.

While our members are volunteers, they are highly trained operational responders. They have stepped away from work, family, and summer plans because they care deeply about serving their community. This is exactly what we train for.

We've also been deeply moved by the incredible response from our community. Calgary came together in a remarkable way. We've also been touched by the many messages from people asking how they can help or become involved in search and rescue in the future. Calgarians willingness to serve the community has been truly inspiring.

Thank you for your encouragement, and for continuing to follow the guidance of Calgary Police Service as the search continues.

🚨 CALSARA Member Training Update 🚨

Several CALSARA members have successfully completed Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) operator training, certified through the Canada Safety Council (CSC)!

UTVs are an essential tool to support operations — allowing our teams to cover difficult terrain faster and get to those who need us sooner. This certification, delivered by Xtreme Safety Training, means more of our members have the skills and confidence to deploy UTVs effectively the moment we're called.

A big shoutout to every member who put in the time and effort to complete this training.
