I’ve stopped trying to become a minimalist… and I don’t regret it.

I’ve decluttered thousands of items from my home and It’s true that peace is found in simplicity…

but in my experience… joy is found in warmth.

Minimalism helped me simplify my life but a calm, supportive home doesn’t have to feel empty or stripped of everything you enjoy.

A minimal-ish lifestyle feels like the sweet spot between feeling overwhelmed… and sterile.

Minimal-ish still means:

✓ less clutter
✓ clear surfaces
✓ more peace & calm

but with intention, personality, and the little things that make a home feel like you.

I know minimalism doesn’t mean “nothingness” for most people… but online, the aesthetic often leans heavily toward the empty white walls and spaces that barely feel lived in.

For me, home should feel calm, comforting and alive.

At twenty-three, I dreamed of a six-figure salary, six weeks vacation, and an office with a view.

By thirty-three, I had it but felt deeply out of sync, and my anxiety was at its highest.

Turns out, motherhood and quietly building a creative business were a much better fit.

As a child, I’d drive by “rich people’s houses” and long to live in a big, beautiful house one day. I did that, too.

Turns out, I prefer something smaller, cosier, and easier to care for.

In my teens, I dreamed of a nomadic life, living abroad and travelling to exotic places.

Turns out, I’m a homebody who loves retreating to my own little nest.

The older I get, the more I realise:

Some dreams were never truly mine. Just ideas I picked up about what a “successful life” should look like.

As I approach my 47th birthday, I continue to outgrow the dreams I once chased.

I don't see it as failure... just becoming more aligned with who I truly am.

What dreams have you outgrown?

My whole space can feel chaotic and disorderly but if my kitchen counter or table is clean 👌 my whole body sighs relief.

It gives my eyes a place to rest and my mind space to gently reset … I can breathe.

You don’t have to have clean the whole house, sometimes one simplified space like a clean and clear counter will do 🤍

Let that be enough for now.

Our home has such an impact on our mood and well-being, which is why I feel so passionate about having a space that supports me, so I have a soft place to land when life gets chaotic, and I need to replenish my resources and pause.

In this week's video, I share 10 intentional home practices that have helped me create a supportive space for my nervous system and sensitive energy.

I’ve been quiet here for a while.

Life got… full.

A move.

A separation.

Kids who needed more of me.

And a business that had to wait while I found my footing again.

For months, I didn’t have the energy — or the focus — to create.

And honestly, I felt disconnected from the work that once felt like home.

But little by little, things started to shift.

I found small pockets of calm by simplifying — organizing my systems, updating my website, reworking offers, clearing space.

And somewhere in that process,

I began creating from alignment again.

Not rushing back — just easing in, one intentional step at a time.

If you’ve been in a heavy season too —

this week’s podcast might be the reminder you need.
