Third Academy

Kelvin Choy has run for cancer research in Terry Fox's honour for 35 years. 🍁👟

He first ran after losing his father to cancer. His father's name was Hope.

On Friday, he shared that story with our students, as well as Terry's story. When the road ahead felt endless, Terry didn't look at the thousands of kilometres left. He told himself to make it to the next telephone pole, and then the next one.

After the talk, our Elementary and Middle School students laced up and ran through our neighbourhood, one pole at a time.

Mr. Choy's team, Choys R Us, has raised $47,731 for the The Terry Fox Foundation Terry hoped every Canadian would give a dollar. More than $1 billion later, they still are.

🎗️ Together, we keep the Marathon of Hope moving forward. Terry Fox - Calgary

Don't just "get through" high school. Thrive in it. For 30 years, Third Academy has provided a safe, welcoming space where students with unique learning needs can finally "find their people."

We lead with the philosophy of healing the heart to educate the mind, ensuring every student has the emotional foundation to succeed. Because every teen’s future looks different, we offer three distinct pathways tailored to their goals:

• Academic Focus: For students pursuing a high-standard high school diploma.
• Knowledge & Employability (K&E): Focusing on vocational skills and workplace readiness.
• Life Skills: Developing the independence needed for a life of dignity.

Your teen’s daily education is supported by an onsite team of psychologists, speech-language pathologists (SLP), and occupational therapists (OT).
