Excited to share a new limited edition series of five new works! 🌿🐎
These pieces were created for the 2026 Artist Ranch Program for the Stampede, where five artists were selected to participate in a short residency at the historic OH Ranch in Longview, Alberta. We spent a weekend at the ranch to get inspired to create a new series of works.
I had the opportunity to spend the weekend alongside Gary McMillan , Michael Cameron , Kristy North Peigan • Village Idiot and Bruno Canadien , learning a little about their art practices and a little about Alberta's history and the story of the OH Ranch. It was a beautiful weekend, and these are the works that emerged from that experience!

Sentient Lily Wander - A 1 minute stop motion paper animation created Quickdraw Animation Society 2026 lockdown!
The film grew out of Sentient Plant Allies in Alien Landscapes, my first solo exhibition presented at Gibson Fine Art in October 2025. This animation brings one of the works from the exhibition, Lily Wander, to life. As the largest piece in the show, I always imagined it in motion. The way its fragments connected felt like a fish-like creature, a sentient being slowly emerging from the collage.
I knew I wanted my body to interact with the piece somehow, so I began by recording my hand performing different actions and editing them down to a few simple gestures that I could animate around.
I then printed miniature versions of the same fragments used in the original collage and, after a crash course in Dragonframe from Erin at Quickdraw, began animating them under a downshooter camera. I explored different ways the fragments could respond to and interact with my hand. With the help of Von_hagler we built a simple puppet held together with tape and string to bring the character to life!
After four intense days of experimentation, problem-solving, and embracing a few "oops" moments along the way, I composited everything together and submitted the film at the very last possible moment. Sentient Lily Wander was screened at Contemporary Calgary alongside the many incredible films created during the lockdown. Huge thank you to QAS for the opportunity, their beautiful community, awesome studio space, and yummy food!
The actual piece is currently available at Gibson Fine Art it's a 42 x 50 paper photo collage!

Epson Hot Press Paper, UltraChrome inks, museum glass
This became one of my favourite pieces in the exhibition. Arms transform into branches, flower buds look like hands, and also begin to resemble birds. The image exists somewhere between body and landscape. I love how our minds naturally search for familiar forms within nature — simple fragments become animated, creating a sense of movement and impending flight.

Happy to share that these pieces from the Floranima series have found their home and are now sold. Each piece measures 29 x 42 inches and is printed on aluminum. These works are close-up fragments of original paper collages, where layers and cut forms are arranged together to create movement, flow, and transformation between one another.
I loved creating these pieces and seeing the small details and textures come together into something new. Grateful for everyone who connected with this work. You can find more of my works
