Summer is already halfway over, and the new school year will be here before we know it! ☀️
With that, we're already starting to book orthodontic appointments for the fall, making this the perfect time to plan ahead.
If your child is approaching age 7, one of those appointments could be their first orthodontic exam. The Canadian Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial assessment by age 7 as it's the ideal time to evaluate how their smile and bite are developing.
Some of the key things we look for during that first visit include:
✔️ Bite alignment
✔️ Airway & breathing issues
✔️ Spacing & crowding
✔️ How permanent teeth are coming in
