This custom outdoor kitchen brings together a built-in smoker, grill, bar fridge, and granite countertop, creating a dedicated space for cooking and gathering outdoors.

It’s designed for regular use—weeknight meals outside, slow weekend cooking, and hosting that naturally extends into the yard without feeling staged or separate from it.

Here are the next steps in the Altadore project that we've been tracking along with.

This one's on the home stretch, we can't wait to reveal the final result.

This design works within a compact footprint, but the experience extends beyond its size. The raised deck establishes a clear upper plane, while the wraparound staircase softens the transition and creates a defined space below—intimate, shaded, and intentionally used.

From within the yard, the boundaries loosen. Circulation and elevation shifts create a sense of expansion rather than constraint, making the space feel larger than its dimensions suggest.

A water feature is currently in progress, introducing movement and sound into the composition.

The result supports quiet evenings outdoors, informal gathering, and everyday use of the space without excess or formality.

"These kids have little toy excavators and dump trucks and so I can imagine that they'll probably even be playing in the flowerbeds a little, just kind of digging out some of the soil."
