Our 2026 Employee Appreciation BBQs wrapped up in Ottawa, bringing colleagues together to connect, enjoy some well-deserved time together, and celebrate the dedication, teamwork, and passion they bring to Cowan every day.

After our original celebration was postponed due to inclement weather, it was great to finally gather and enjoy a delicious meal from Golden Fries Orleans.

Most importantly, thank you to our Ottawa team for everything you do. These moments are a small token of our appreciation, and we’re grateful to have such an exceptional team.

We’re pleased to announce that Shelly Redwood has been appointed Vice President, Pension & Retirement Consulting.

With more than 25 years of experience in the group retirement industry, Shelly brings deep expertise from both the carrier and consulting sides of the business. Since joining Cowan in 2021, she has played an important role in strengthening client relationships, growing our Pension & Retirement Consulting practice and supporting our multi-line growth strategy.

Shelly’s collaborative approach, engaging leadership style and growth mindset will continue to contribute to the success of our team, our clients and our organization.

At Cowan Insurance Group, we recognize that well-being looks different for everyone. That’s why Wellness Week was designed to support our employees’ physical, mental, social, and financial well-being through a variety of activities, resources, and learning opportunities.

Our employees spent the week exploring different ways to support their physical, mental, and financial well-being. From getting insights into retirement planning and nutrition to enjoying healthy smoothies, getting outside for Walking Day, talking about mental health, and completing Wellness Bingo challenges, there was something for everyone to learn, connect and thrive.

We appreciate everyone who participated, volunteered their time, and helped make Wellness Week a success Your enthusiasm and engagement reflect our commitment to well-being.

We’re also grateful to Homewood Health and Canada Life Co for their partnership and contributions throughout the week. Their expertise, resources and support helped deliver valuable information, experiences and practical tools that empower our employees at Cowan.

Together, we’re building healthy habits and a healthier workplace.
