Functional movement and yoga education, functional nutrition, and nature connection

Healthy living is a state of mind… it’s what you eat, how you approach food, what you do to create balance in your life, and what you do that ultimately “feeds” your body. Developing a mindful eating practice can provide a platform that truly supports and nurtures your yoga or wellness routine. To "Fuel Awesome" is about making choices to live in a health conscious manner. This means being intenti

Inflammation has become the villain of modern wellness.

But without inflammation…

You wouldn’t heal.
You wouldn’t adapt.
You wouldn’t get stronger.

The question isn’t always, “How do I reduce inflammation?”

Sometimes it’s,

“What does my body need to move through this healing process well?”

That shift changes where we place our attention… from fighting our bodies to supporting them.

💬 What’s one thing you’ve heard about inflammation that you’ve always wondered was true?

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be exploring what it really means to build capacity and not just chase symptoms.

And if this way of thinking resonates with you, stay tuned… the Aligned Wellness Collective relaunches this September with tiers to meet you where you are at, and I can’t wait to share what we’ve been building!

Some of the most meaningful conversations I have in clinic aren’t about pain.

They’re about trust.

Trusting that your body can get stronger.
Trusting that an injury doesn’t define your future.
Trusting that progress doesn’t have to come from pushing harder.

For a long time, wellness has been marketed as a series of things to fix.

Fix your gut.
Fix your hormones.
Fix your posture.
Fix your metabolism.

And while there are absolutely times when our bodies need targeted rehabilitation, medical care, or a thoughtful treatment plan, living in a constant state of trying to “fix” ourselves can quietly create the belief that we’re fundamentally broken.

I’ve found that a different question often leads to a different outcome.

Not...

**”How do I fix this?”**

But...

**”How can I best support my body right now?”**

Sometimes that support looks like progressive strength training.

Sometimes it’s rehabilitation after an injury.

Sometimes it’s more recovery, better nutrition, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

Support isn’t passive.

It’s intentional.

And over time, those intentional choices don’t just help us heal, they help us build confidence in what our bodies are capable of.

💬 Has there been a time when shifting from “fixing” to “supporting” changed the way you approached your health?

One of the biggest shifts I’ve made over the past 20 years isn’t that I know more answers.

It’s that I ask better questions.

Social media loves certainty.

*”It’s cortisol.”*
*”It’s your hormones.”*
*”Your liver is detoxing.”*

Those explanations feel reassuring because they’re simple. But our bodies are rarely that simple.

A symptom is information, not a diagnosis.

Whether it’s waking at 3 a.m., feeling exhausted, struggling with pain, or hitting a plateau in the gym, the first question shouldn’t be, **”What’s the one thing causing this?”**

It should be:

**”What changed?”**

Our bodies are constantly adapting to the environment we create through our movement, nutrition, stress, recovery, relationships, hormones, and countless other inputs. When we zoom out and look for patterns instead of chasing isolated explanations, we make better decisions and usually get better outcomes.

That’s the lens I try to bring to every conversation in clinic and here online.

Not because the body is complicated for the sake of being complicated, but because understanding the context often changes everything.

💬 I’m curious... have you ever searched a symptom online and come away with five completely different explanations?
