NOTICE – TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CASTLEGAR RESTORE PICKUPS DUE TO AIR QUALITY
Habitat for Humanity Southeast BC is closely monitoring the dangerously poor air quality currently affecting Castlegar and the surrounding area.
The health and safety of our staff and volunteers must come first. Given the current conditions, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend ReStore donation pickups in the Castlegar area. We will not ask our staff or volunteers to spend extended periods working outdoors when air quality conditions may put their health at risk.
Donation pickups will resume when the local Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) has improved to 5 or below and conditions are considered safe for our team.
Our Castlegar ReStore remains open, including our donation drop-off. Those who are able and comfortable bringing donations directly to the ReStore are welcome to use this option during regular operating hours. We ask everyone to use their own judgment and take appropriate precautions given the current conditions.
We recognize that the temporary suspension of pickups may inconvenience some of our donors, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Our ReStore team will work to reschedule affected pickups as soon as conditions allow.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our staff and volunteers, but no donation or pickup is worth compromising their health and safety.
Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of Habitat for Humanity Southeast BC and the Castlegar ReStore.
