Chatham-Kent Rucksack March For Remembrance

he Rucksack March for Remembrance was established 2017 in response to the loss of many firefighters, police, ems and military veterans to metal health.

The Rucksack March for Remembrance was established to pull our community together with one mission: Raise awareness and support through fundraising events for the many Canadian military and first responders. As veterans and first responders, we wanted to create an event that would bring people from all walks of life together in support of Wounded Warriors Canada. The Rucksack march is open to all with various Cities across the country as well as the ability to participate virtually. Traditionally the ruck for remembrance has been 22km with 22kgs. Distances may vary from location to location and participants are free to decide what weight works for them. Virtually participants are free to set there own weight, distance and fundraising goals. Gather your friends, meet up and go for a ruck.

What started as "Hey why don't we try doing this event here in Chatham?" and hoping some people might want to participate has turned into something we are pretty proud of.
Big thanks to everyone who has made even 1 lap around the park in support of our first responders and veterans.
Hope to see everyone again on N0v. 7th to do it all again!!

This afternoon "Simon" stopped by our booth at the Petrolia Fall Fair. Though he's not a registered service animal he can sure put a smile on your face!

This morning we were at Lambton Fire College Lambton College for their 9/11 Memorial Stair climb. Over 150 participants climbed over 2000 stairs or the equivalent of the 110 stories that the men and women of the NYFD, NYPD and EMTs climbed 25 years ago. That day they gave the ultimate sacrifice and will not be forgotten. Every participant carried the name of one of those individuals today.
