Saracen Fire and Rescue

Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were tragically lost. Among them were 441 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to help others.

Their courage, selflessness, and sacrifice remain a powerful reminder to all first responders who face the unexpected and put their lives on the line each day to protect and serve others.

Today, our thoughts are with the families, friends, colleagues, and communities who continue to carry the loss of those taken on 9/11. We also honour the surviving first responders who continue to face the lasting physical and mental health effects of that day, including respiratory illnesses, cancers, PTSD, and other challenges caused by their service and exposure at Ground Zero. Their ongoing strength and sacrifice must never be forgotten, and they deserve our continued gratitude, support, and care.

We remember. We honour their sacrifice. We stand with the survivors. We will never forget.

Our thoughts are with those that that have been forced from their homes due to the wildfires across Canada and the USA. Thanks goes out to all the firefighters and support staff that continue to work long hours in hot, dry and often dangerous conditions. A extra special thanks to our Saracen crew members that have been extremely busy the last two months across the country. Even with the team split and almost 3000 km apart, our strong team does what needs to be done to help out the communities and our industry partners. Saracen team - we thank you for your sacrifices this summer and thank your families for supporting you in what you do.

Today we celebrate National Wildland Firefighter Day. We thank our Saracen personnel and the whole firefighting community for all that they do!

Happy Canada Day! 🍁🇨🇦

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers and father figures on our team. To those spending time away from their families while protecting communities from wildfires, thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. We recognize the personal sacrifices you make in service to others, and we are grateful for all that you do. Always stay safe, and know that your efforts are always deeply appreciated.

Saracen Fire and Rescue extends our deepest condolences to Joanne and the rest of Wildcat Fire Services family on the sudden passing of Larry Werner. Our Saracen team has been on many wildfire incidents with Larry over the years. His experience lead his team to help save many homes and communities throughout Alberta and neighbouring provinces. His dedication to the wildfire community was evident as well as his dedication to his family and community. Larry - you will be missed. Rest in peace.
