Advocating for vulnerable road users can be heavy work. It’s good to lighten the mood every now and then.

So awesome. The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail - Sicamous to Armstrong is what rail trails are supposed to be. Not highways for vehicles, not for MORVs and prioritized for active and accessible outdoor recreation so it's comfortable to use self-propelled.

Vancouver Island is very popular for cycling.
The journey doesn't end at the Trail. It continues in cafés, bike shops, B&Bs and restaurants that welcome trail users every day. Leigh McAdam's latest bikepacking adventure on Vancouver Island is a perfect example of why it's not just a trail. It's about connecting with communities, supporting local businesses and experiencing the places that make each journey unique.

It is strange the logging companies can do all the ground flagging ahead of announcing the cut blocks. One of our directors saw all the flagging last summer. Cedar trees. Is this why we lost the recreation trail status to a road? Does the Province want to just log out the rail trails and that's why there is no designation? We have lost a crown jewel of the TCT in British Columbia.
Great to see a bike parade for Christina Lake festivities this weekend! Home to the bicycle ride to Castlegar on the an important section of theTrans Canada Trail.
