We want to highlight and celebrate a beautiful community project created by Teresa. By securing a Delta Community Foundation Neighbourhood Grant, she installed a 'wind phone' booth located at Schoolhouse Farm in Ladner, which is now open to the public.

This Wind Phone offers a gentle, dedicated space for anyone navigating loss, grief, or for those who simply want a quiet place to reflect.

We are so proud to support the incredible work of Vancouver Food Runners as they continue to create connections between local businesses, nonprofits, and volunteers, helping ensure surplus food reaches essential community food programs.

Neighbourhood Small Grant Project Spotlight

What a fantastic day of creativity, connection, and community!

Alexis’s LEGO Make and Take event brought together families for a fun-filled day of building, playing, and making new friends. With beautiful sunshine overhead, more than 45 children were busy creating imaginative LEGO masterpieces, from towers and houses to airplanes, shops, and unique creations of their own.

The event also included Duplo and Mega Blocks for younger builders, along with a variety of games such as Connect 4, Qwirkle, chalk activities, stepping stones, checkers, and more ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Parents and caregivers shared how much they appreciated having a free community event where children could socialize, express their creativity, and inspire one another.

A huge thank you to Alexis for creating such a welcoming and inclusive event, and for helping strengthen community connections through play.

Project Spotlight: Cul-de-sac Party Fun!

Diane and Jamie’s Cul-de-sac Party Fun was another wonderful success this Canada Day, bringing together neighbours, friends, and family for an afternoon of connection, laughter, and fun. This party was made possible with a grant from the Delta Community Foundation’s Neighbourhood Small Grant Program.

One of the highlights was the Lego Challenge, where the kids amazed everyone with their creativity and imagination!

Here’s what Diane and Jamie shared:
“Cul-de-sac Party Fun was a great success thanks to the generous donation of the Neighbourhood Small Grants and the Delta Community Foundation. We are grateful to live in Ladner. Neighbors, friends and family thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Canada Day together. The creativity from the kids during the Lego Challenge was amazing. Here we are, 5 years of Cul-de-sac Party Fun, continuing to create memories and making new friends.”
