🚒A HUGE THANK YOU TO WAYLON MOSHER & DIGBY MARINE! 🏌️‍♂️

Digby Fire is incredibly grateful to local businessman and longtime supporter of our department, Waylon Mosher, for organizing the very first annual Digby Marine Charity Golf Classic at the beautiful Digby Pines.
What started as an idea to bring people together for a great cause has turned into an incredible contribution to our local fire service. Today, Waylon presented Digby Fire Chief Rob Morgan with a cheque for an amazing $31,503.82! 👏
We want to sincerely thank Waylon for all the time, effort and dedication he put into getting this tournament off the ground, as well as everyone who helped organize, sponsor and participate in the event. A special thank you also goes to the Digby Pines for helping make this two-day tournament possible.
And we’re very proud to announce that 100% of these funds will be donated to the Digby Municipal Fire Service Training Facility, where they will help support training opportunities for all 11 municipal fire departments.
This is a tremendous investment in firefighter training and, ultimately, in the safety of our communities.
With this donation, along with the three shipping containers previously donated by Digby Fire, Digby Fire has now contributed more than $60,000 toward the development of this training facility.
We truly believe that when our firefighters have better opportunities to train together, our entire community benefits.
Waylon, thank you for believing in our fire service, supporting our members and taking the initiative to make this happen. We look forward to seeing the Digby Marine Charity Golf Classic continue to grow for years to come!

Another great training session for our members….

🚒 TRAINING TONIGHT

Just a quick heads up to the residents of Digby. Digby Fire will be conducting training tonight around the station and in the dirt parking lot across the road.

The Province’s new burn trailer will be in use, so there will be some extra activity and noise around the area.

If you see the trailer or notice a little more commotion than usual around the station tonight, don’t be alarmed. It’s just us training! 🚒

Thanks for your understanding while our members continue to train and prepare to serve our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Seafood Chowder once again. We hope you enjoyed it, and we truly appreciate the continued support of our community. It was another great success!

We also want to take a moment to thank our members for everything they do. With every festival, event and fundraiser comes a lot of work behind the scenes, and for our members, it really never seems to end.

While the community sees the events, our members are also constantly training, maintaining equipment, responding to calls and preparing for whatever comes next.

Tomorrow, one of the Province’s new burn trailers will be arriving in Digby, giving our members another opportunity to train in realistic fire conditions. Before they can even get started, members will need to be clean shaven along the mask seal area, complete mask fit testing and meet the required health and safety checks. Then, if everything is in order, they’ll spend their evening training.

That’s the reality of being a volunteer firefighter. There is always something to do, always something to learn, and always another call, training night or community event just around the corner.

To all of our members, thank you for your time, commitment and dedication to Digby and the surrounding communities.
