Who are we? We are a brand new church that started in January 2023. We meet at the Khowutzun Heritage Centre on Sundays at 10 am. Why call the church “Valley”?
When we heard from people in the Cowichan area that there needed to be another church there that will contend for the valley, the word ”valley” was repeated so many times. This got us thinking that maybe the name “Valley” would be a good idea. From there, an analogy started to surface. The analogy that came to mind was how often we as people are always looking for a mountaintop experience in our faith journey. Though the mountaintop experience is desirable, it is in the valley where we wrestle through the hard stuff. It’s in the valley where the land is fertile and full of growth, and it is in the valley of life where we find ourselves most often. It is in the valley when often we have lost hope and can’t see what’s outside of ourselves… but Jesus meets us there! Jesus meets us and brings us hope and promises to never leave us. It became pretty clear that we want to be a people that exemplify this metaphor.

What a Sunday! We had a wonderful time at Qwanoes gathering together for our annual Fall BBQ. It was so great to have an outdoor service, visit, share lunch and witness 2 baptisms on the beach! Thank you for joining us- we hope to see you tomorrow!
We will be back at our regular meeting location: 200 Cowichan Way at 10 am!

This Sunday we will be having an outdoor service at Camp Qwanoes followed by our annual Fall BBQ & beach baptisms! There will be games and activities for the kids (and adults!!) after the service.
We hope you can join us, stay for lunch and support those that have made a decision to get baptized.

Hey Valley Church! This Sunday we will be meeting out at Camp Qwanoes for our service. We will be gathering around the fireside area which is towards the top of the beach stairs.
Kids: Ages 3-grade 6 will be welcome to join for some fun crafting in the Artrageous Tent. Kids who are 0-2yrs will stay with parents this Sunday.
When: This Sunday, August 9

Bring: Chair & sun shade
*No service at the Khowutzun Center July 26
August 2: Connect Sunday
Take this Sunday to get together with your small group or others from Valley Church. Choose an option that works for you, or create your own group!
-The Loree's house
-The Downey's house on Thetis Island (take the walk-on ferry and Stu & Heather will pick you up on the other side)
-Create your own meetup.

August 9: Sunday Morning at Camp Qwanoes
Time: 10:00 am
Where: Qwanoes (1148 Smith Rd, Crofton)
Main service: fireside or q-town tent (weather will decide)
Valley Kids: Age 3- Grade 6 in Artrageous tent
Valley kids: Age 0-3 will stay with parents
*No service at the Khowutzun Center August 9
Regular Services at the Khowutzun Center will resume at 10 am on Sunday, August 16.

We have had many joyful moments in the last month! We’ve prayed over the Qwanoes staff, spoken truth & love from the front, came together for a church picnic and have sung many songs of praise to Jesus. We are so glad our hope is found in the Lord!
We will see you on Sunday!
Parents- a friendly reminder that there will not be a kids program this Sunday. The kids will join us in the service. Activity sheets will be available and the nursery room will be open.
