Vultures tend to get a wrongful bad reputation from humans. We love when folks meet our vultures and fall in love with their intelligence and charming personalities- they’re so much more than just your average scavenger. Goblin has definitely developed quite the fan base over the years 😆 We love when people visit us and get excited to meet our vultures!!!!! They’re the best!

📣 Hey Vancouver! Are you ready for Urban Raptors?! 📣

✨ We are thrilled to be expanding our education programs to the lower mainland! During this approximately one-hour experience, you’ll meet several raptor species up close, watch birds fly just metres away and hear the individual stories of the birds you meet. Your experience concludes with a guided walk through the surrounding farmland alongside a free-flying Harris’s hawk- including the opportunity to experience the hawk flying directly to your gloved arm.

This experience must be booked in advance and we cannot accommodate walk ins. Can’t make it out to our facility, but interested in having our birds come to you? Enquire by email for personalized programs: [email protected]

Being able to read and interpret a birds body language is an important part of working with these incredible animals! ✨

Fraction, a Gyr Falcon, decided to sit on a perch and put his foot up instead of flying (which was the goal on this morning!). It’s up to our birds what they would like to do! Fraction perching comfortably with his feathers out and foot up tells us he is content and maybe not necessarily ready or wanting to fly at that particular moment. We love watching our birds make their own choices and learn all the different body language they present to us!

Remember our baby Barn Owls from earlier this spring? 🦉

Fifa is fully grown and is flying like a pro! He has been in a few of our Flying Demonstrations and learning so quickly. It is such a pleasure watching our birds learn and grow into the little shining stars they are ⭐️

We are going to be napping like Elton for a while after a crazy awesome summer. Thank you everyone who came out for a visit this summer- it is one of our favourite times of the year. ✨
