Professional STAR - Edmonton

Professional STAR is a Nonprofit organization that focuses on human empowerment, values, and professionalism. Vision:

A world community where human rights and the pursuit of learning are valued where people live in harmony, and truth, ethics, and good character become imprinted in the DNA of our consciousness, and resources both intellectual and natural are shared for the purposes of humanity's greater good. A society where discrimination and prejudices are things of the past, and where the current discriminated, underprivileged, underemployed, misrepresented minorities, our brothers and sisters of the First Nations, the immigrants, international students, migrant workers, and refugees are part of the solution towards meaningful and positive change. Mission:

To empower the vulnerable sectors of the population for inclusion, development of their unique creative talents and abilities, and uphold the value of lifelong learning. Provide an enlightened and empowered social environment for students transitioning to the workforce, connecting them as a community of shared values to achieve our vision. Employ the different values of arts as a medium of social involvement and continuously research new and effective methods of engagement, organizing, and participation. Advocacy:

Recognition/appreciation/awards for the person(s) that inspire and initiate community projects. Continuing post-secondary education, functional literacy, poverty alleviation, ending homelessness, recovery from addiction and depression, community voluntarism, mentorship, and professional development.
