Today I spent the morning and afternoon with a group of incredible women. This is Shayla, she is the beautiful mind behind Matriarch Movement and I am happy she pursued her dreams (literal dream) to create space for women to come and connect and unapologetically learn, grow and share in their culture.

The one word I shared for how I was impacted today in our closing circle was “womanhood”. For good reason. It’s the women in my life who have whipped my tears, held room for my laughter and took the time to deeply understand me in moments I could hardly understand myself. Thankful for my sisters. Thankful for womanhood.

I think it’s only fitting to post my first “professional photo sessions” I ever did for my 100 post 🥳🎉🎊.

This is Hana. She is my bestie, we met in 2016 in Los Angeles. The city where the origins of my love for photography started.

Before we parted ways she found out I took my mom’s cannon camera (**reason for purchase** they wanted to capture my baby brothers birth and never used it agian after the event). But before leaving LA Hana made sure I put it to use.

One could say she saw something creative in me back then-or just really wanted a free headshot in LA- 😜 either way I couldn’t be more thankful. .xciv you a day one, real one. This one goes out to you homie.
