Small batch ice cream crafted with love in the heart of Edmonton.

09/01/2026

Hello, September! We’re starting the month with three completely new flavours, all making their debut in the shop today.

There’s something especially nice about September - summer still hanging on and that fresh-start feeling that comes with the first day of school. To everyone heading back to class, starting somewhere new, or settling into a new routine, we wish you a great year ahead!

And if the first day calls for ice cream, we’ve got you covered.

Timut peppercorn caramel: Vanilla ice cream swirled with timut peppercorn infused caramel, a Nepalese spice known for its bright grapefruit and citrus notes. It starts rich and familiar, then opens into something fresh, aromatic and just a little unexpected. Timut peppercorn gives the caramel a fresh, unexpected lift rather than any heat or spice. (contains milk, egg)

Plum cheesecake: Three varieties of Okanagan plums are transformed into a vivid ruby-red purée, then folded into a deeply caramelized sugar to create a fruit caramel that’s both bright and rich. The acidity of the plums lifts the toasted sweetness of the caramel, while a touch of tonka bean adds vanilla and almond notes. Swirled through sweet cream ice cream with chunks of cheesecake, it’s a flavour that bridges lingering summer days and the first hint of autumn. (contains milk, egg, gluten. soy)

Lemon poppy seed loaf (vegan): A creamy coconut and oat milk ice cream with plenty of zippy lemon, poppy seeds and chunks of house-baked lemon loaf. The coconut comes through clearly, but the citrus keeps it fresh and lively, with bites of cake making it feel just a little extra indulgent. (contains gluten)

✨New Sorbet✨

Pineapple guava ginger sorbet is now available in scoops and pints. Juicy pineapple and fragrant guava come together in a bright, tropical sorbet, finished with a gentle kick of ginger. This was a customer request and it’s extra special that it’s in the cabinet on their wedding day. Happy celebrations to the both of you!

We were a little backed up on posts and didn’t get a chance to announce that we were scooping lulo sorbet but still have a few pints left if you want to tuck one away in your freezer.

They’re here! Our friends at Delavoye Chocolate Maker are all set up and popping up with us this evening.

There’s something pretty special about two local businesses coming together - sharing what we each do best, creating something new, and introducing our communities to one another along the way.
We’ve loved collaborating with Delavoye on this month’s ice cream flavours, and we’re so happy to have them spending the evening with us. Come say hi, taste some incredible chocolate, and celebrate local with us. 🍦🍫❤️

Tomorrow evening, our friends at Delavoye Chocolate Maker are popping up at Annie Rue Ice Cream 🍫✨

Join us from 5-8pm to meet the people behind one of the local businesses we’re so happy to collaborate with and buy some of their beautiful chocolate.

This month, we’ve been working together on some special ice cream flavours and the pop-up is another way of bringing our communities together. We love finding opportunities to connect to thoughtful local businesses, share what each of us does best, and give you a chance to discover something new.

Delavoye Chocolate Pop-Up

🍦New Sorbet🍦

Mandarin and cacao fruit sorbet is now available in scoops and pints. Bright, juicy mandarin meets the fresh, gently tart flavour of cacao fruit in this refreshing sorbet. Think vibrant citrus with a crisp, almost apple-like finish — light, juicy and a little unexpected.

It’s the latest in our month long collaboration with Delavoye Chocolate Maker where we’re exploring cacao in its many forms.

🫐 🌿 New Sorbet 🌿 🫐

Blueberry basil sorbet started scooping yesterday. A shop favourite that screams summer. Swing down for a scoop in this beautiful sunshine. 😎

Since last September, you’ve been dropping hints (okay, sometimes very direct ones):
“When’s Biscoff Brownie coming back?”
“What about the cherry one?”
And lately: “Do you have any sorbet?”

Well... we got the message - and we got you. ❤️

They’re back, and they’re here to make August extra delicious. We also added a new feature to the lineup - Delavoye death by chocolate - and we can’t wait for you to try this one!

Delavoye death by chocolate: A collaboration with our local high-end bean-to-bar chocolate factory and chocolate house Delavoye Chocolate Maker on 124th street. This ice cream begins softly, with a creamy chocolate base infused by steeping cacao husks. Roasted Ecuadorian cocoa nibs add a deep, satisfying crunch, transforming each bite from milky and mellow into something bold and reminiscent of dark chocolate. Finished with fudgy brownies topped with bright, fruity Tanzanian cocoa nibs, it’s a layered journey through chocolate in all its forms. (contains, milk, eggs, gluten)

Biscoff brownie: Biscoff ice cream and chunks of brownie, need we say more? It’s back for a fourth summer and always a knockout. (Contains milk, egg, gluten and soy)

Sour cherry habanero - inspired by a Parkallen resident, Christine’s, delectable jam. The first summer we were open she stopped by with her creations, the second year she shared the recipe and the rest is history! Delicious sour cherries and the slightest touch of habanero. (Contains milk, egg)

Rotating sorbets (vegan): we make one batch of each flavour and when it’s gone the next one comes out. First up - soursop! This is Annie Rue’s founder’s favourite fruit. Soursop is a spiky green tropical fruit with a creamy white pulp that tastes like a mix of banana, strawberry and pineapple.
