Today is the first day of the rest of my life

It has been a busy 2 weeks for me. But thru it all, I’ve been given time to reflect. And when you haven’t sat down for a while to grasp what’s happening around you, it can be quite eye opening!

I returned to the Cadet unit that I volunteer with tonight, after almost 6 weeks away. It’s crazy to see how well turned out and disciplined a large group of teenagers can be!

I've realized I need to start practicing Restraint again.

I need to recognize when enough is enough and tell myself no.

No more eating full bags of chips, or tubs of ice cream, or 3 lbs. of chicken wings 🤣

And then I suppose the next thing to do would be to compliment this practice with another discipline, Appreciation.

We all see the good in things, I'm finally going to let it take the wheel!

Everyone has a podcast these days. I went one too!

Leadership = Responsibility.

This can be a simple way of defining it, but things are never quite so simple.

We have all met tones of leaders who just did not live up to the responsibilities, especially myself.

My old high school motto is Latin for “to be rather than to seem” and after all these years, that is still a motto to live up to.

It is my mission to continue to grow my leadership skills and BE that leader.
