A new home for the future of STEM is one step closer.

STEM Collegiate has received site approval and planning dollars from the Government of Alberta for a future school in Edmonton.

The school is being planned to serve 1,200 students in Grades 7–12 and expand access to hands-on, industry-connected STEM education.

This is an important milestone for our students, families, staff and partners. Thank you to everyone who has supported STEM Collegiate’s vision and helped us reach this moment.

There is more work ahead. Further planning, design and government approvals are required before construction can begin, and we look forward to sharing updates as the project advances.

What happens when students are given the opportunity to build, test, question and solve?

They rise to the challenge.

STEM Collegiate students regularly outperform provincial averages on Provincial Achievement Tests. They are also applying what they learn through robotics, engineering, technology and interdisciplinary projects that turn ideas into real-world solutions.

A new school would give our students purpose-designed laboratories, collaborative learning environments and more space to experiment, create and innovate.

Our students have already shown us what they can do. Imagine what becomes possible when their learning environment matches their ambition.

As AI continues to shape the way we learn, work, and interact with the world, it brings both tremendous opportunities and important considerations. Through this initiative, we encourage students to approach AI with curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility as they discover its potential applications. As a STEM-focused school, we recognize that AI will play an increasingly significant role in our students' lives and future careers.

We are excited to invite you to our Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This evening is a great opportunity for families to connect with our school and learn more about the year ahead.

Demand for our school continues to exceed the space available. Families are looking for an education that combines academic excellence, hands-on learning and meaningful connections to the opportunities shaping Alberta’s future.

A new, purpose-built school would allow us to welcome more students, expand specialized programming and give more young people the opportunity to discover what they can achieve.

The demand is here. The potential is here. Now we need to create room for both.

Meet Reachy, the newest member of STEM Collegiate.

STEM Collegiate is now home to the first humanoid robot in an Alberta school!

Our students will use Reachy to explore robotics, coding, artificial intelligence and human-robot interaction through hands-on learning with cutting-edge technology. They will be able to program, test, experiment and solve problems using a sophisticated real-world platform.

There will be plenty of serious learning ahead, but we also plan to have some fun along the way.

Reachy has already made quite the entrance. We cannot wait to see what our students build, test and discover.
