Elevate Aviation is a non-profit organization with programs all across Canada and a mission to create So, what are we doing about it?

After conducting significant research from a variety of demographics from coast to coast, we learned that the largest barrier to female entry into aviation was simply lack of awareness. How can something so simple have caused the massive gender gap in aviation? This gap not only denies women options for economic security, but it has also been identified as a cause of the looming industry-wide shortage Canada is facing. We introduce women to the incredible careers in the aviation industry through tours, speaking engagements, and events; we immerse boys and girls (middle and high school-aged) into week-long aviation experiences through our Elevate Aviation Learning Centre; we connect women already in the industry through mentorship and a network of support; and we work with ALL of Canada’s leaders in aviation to promote their companies, unique careers, and the industry as a whole. Each and every one of our programs are targeted at moving the needle in the industry. Our Mission
Elevate Aviation provides a platform for women and underrepresented groups to thrive and succeed through careers in aviation. Our Vision
To be a primary provider of aviation career support, working alongside industry professionals to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Change takes courage, community, and commitment.

We deeply felt all three at the Aviation Inclusivity Summit, where aviation professionals, students, and advocates from across the country came together to listen, learn, and have meaningful conversations about building a more inclusive future for aviation in Canada.

We were proud to see our team contribute to those conversations, with Litzy co-hosting a breakout session on Naming & Navigating Microaggressions in Aviation Workplaces, and Briggs sharing his perspective and experience within the industry as a panelist on Trans Voices in Aviation.

Thank you to Canadian Aviation Pride for creating a space for such an inspiring and empowering event, fostering connection, learning, and continued progress.

Elevate Aviation is proud to partner with Canadian Aviation Pride, Northern Lights Aero Foundation, Urban Pilots Network Inc., and Black Aviation Professionals Network on this event and in our continued commitment to creating meaningful change.

What an inspiring evening at the Northern Lights Aero Foundation Gala! ✨

The gala brought together incredible people from across Canada’s aviation community to connect, celebrate, and recognize the women and organizations helping shape the future of our industry.

Congratulations to all of the Elsie Award and scholarship recipients recognized throughout the evening. Your achievements and contributions to aviation are truly inspiring.

A special shoutout to our Aurora Scholarship recipient, Abbey May-Richards, who is pursuing a career as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Congratulations, Abbey!

Thank you to the Northern Lights Aero Foundation for hosting such a meaningful event and bringing the aviation community together.

The women of Elevate Aviation just can’t be stopped! 😉

Their hard work and dedication is creating waves within the industry and it’s a pleasure witnessing them excel within the aviation industry.

The Canadian Owners and Pilots Association - COPA Flight Instructor of the Year award was presented to Hannah McKay, a Flight Instructor who has demonstrated professionalism and excellence, leaving a positive impression on pilots in training.

Ilianna Thasitis continues to dominate the skies, as the recipient of the COPA Morris Kansun Advanced Flight Training Scholarship. This scholarship celebrates the memory of Morris Kansun, an accomplished Canadian pilot and businessman.

Cassandra Derks has earned the SAIT’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award for 2026. A graduate of their Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program, the resilience Cassandra shows as a woman in one of the most male-dominated career paths within the industry is inspiring and admirable.

Madison Crane is one of only eight pilots across Canada to take home the 2026 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship. As a woman who not only excels in her own training, but actively encourages other women, this is a well-deserved achievement for Madison.

Let’s give these ladies a round of applause for standing tall, showing up, and truly making a difference in the world of aviation.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and their families and communities. We recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system and the responsibility we all share in advancing reconciliation.

Within Canada’s aviation industry, reconciliation also calls on us to consider how we create meaningful opportunities, strengthen relationships, and remove barriers for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples.

At Elevate Aviation, we remain committed to creating more inclusive pathways into aviation and supporting Indigenous youth and communities through mentorship, connection, and opportunities within the sector.

Today is a day to listen, learn, reflect, and recognize that reconciliation requires continued action.

Class is in session!

We’re so excited to be in the beautiful Victoria Harbour here in British Columbia for our Elevating Leadership: Immersive Leadership Experience.

It’s not often that you round up 32 female leaders in the aviation industry in one location, but when you do, it’s the most inspiring, powerful, and uplifting environment to be apart of.

We’re here to put in the work, build our leadership skills, and develop tools that we’ll continue to use every single day of our careers.

Events like these are why the aviation community is so strong, and why we’re so proud to be involved.
