CX Solid Foundation
Every first responder shows up for their community — often on its hardest days. It’s time someone showed up for them.
To raise money to fund mental health initiatives for Correctional Officers, First Responders and Veterans, while continuing onsite mental wellness days with our amazing 4 legged friends. CX Solid raises the funds that give our first responders and veterans access to the mental health programs they deserve — at no cost to them.

We spent such an amazing day at the Alberta First Responders Association BBQ for the Brave, helping raise funds for the families of our fallen correctional officers.
What a turnout!
We met so many amazing people, had some conversations that were frankly difficult, shared some laughs, and of course got to introduce a whole bunch of people to the ponies.
Max and Halley were, as always, perfect. Their quarters were a little more cramped than they are used to, but we adapted and so did they. They settled in and spent the day doing what they do best.
And apparently, the horses have a following now! 😂
People came specifically knowing they were going to be there. Some had met them before and came back to see them again. One family even thoughtfully brought a carrot for each horse, and after asking permission to feed them, the girls got to experience feeding Max and Halley a carrot for the first time.
Those are the little moments we absolutely love.
Bella came along with us too. When things got really busy it became a little overwhelming for her, so she and her friend Sandy found themselves a nice spot in the shade of the tent where they could watch everything from a comfortable distance. She was still more than happy to visit with anyone who ventured over to say hello.
And apparently Bella has a following too. LOL.
Overall, we were absolutely thrilled by the incredible planning and turnout AFRA had for this event. We were so happy to be there and support it in whatever small capacity we could.
We are all home now. The horses are back out in their pasture and tucked in for the night, Bella is undoubtedly happy to be back in her own space, and the humans are pretty sure we've earned ourselves a rest too.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out today, stopped to say hello, shared a story, met the animals, donated, volunteered or helped make this event happen.
Most importantly, thank you for showing up for the families of our fallen correctional officers.
Today was filled with a lot of smiles and laughter, but none of us forgot why we were there.
To the families, friends and coworkers carrying an unimaginable loss — we stand with you. 💙

If you’re around the Edmonton area tomorrow and looking to help us raise funds for the families of our fallen correctional officers, make sure you come by the Spruce Grove Peavey Mart for a BBQ and some great conversation.
The BBQ, hosted by Alberta First Responders Association, runs from 11:00–3:00, and I would imagine you’ll be pretty hard pressed to miss us as you drive by!
Max and Halley will also be there lending their support and spending a little time with anyone who wants a few quiet moments with them. 🐴❤️
Come grab some food, stop for a visit, say hello to the horses and, most importantly, help us show our support for the families who have lost one of their own.
Every bit of support matters.
Tomorrow | 11:00–3:00

Good afternoon everyone!
We finally have our video from K-Days put together. It has taken a lot longer than expected unfortunately because theus was super unhappy with the darkness of it.
I am still super happy to have it done and I hope you enjoy it as well.

This has been a really rough couple of weeks for the first responder world.
There has been loss within the RCMP, CSC, Durham Regional Police Service and Hamilton Police Service, along with injuries on the job for members of the Calgary Police Service. And I am sure there is more that I am simply not aware of.
When things like this happen in the first responder world, they bring up a lot of emotions.
Grief. Loss. Anger. Distrust — of the organization, the public, or sometimes both, depending on the circumstances. And quite often, a need to escape.
Not necessarily a literal need to escape, but a need to put some distance between yourself and the trauma.
We hear people start talking about transferring out of their current unit. Switching shifts. Moving to a different post. Maybe even leaving their service altogether.
Then they go home.
They visit with family or friends. Hug their dog. Maybe have one too many bowls of chips while watching a movie that night. Their sleep is fitful at best, and the alarm the next morning comes way too early.
But they get up.
They shake it off.
They tell themselves they're fine.
And they do it all over again.
If this is you, please know that we see you.
We know firsthand that just because you put the uniform back on and showed up for another shift doesn't mean the issue is over for you. And no matter how tough you think you need to be, you don't have to pretend that something didn't affect you.
We have your six.
Pick up the phone. Send an email or a text. Come out and hug a horse. Sit with us and say absolutely nothing if that's what you need.
We aren't here to diagnose you or tell you how you should feel. We're simply here to support you in whatever small way we can. And if what you need is beyond what we can offer, we can help connect you with other organizations and resources that may be able to help.
Most importantly, you don't have to carry everything by yourself.
To every first responder who has had a particularly heavy couple of weeks:
We see you. We support you. And we're here.
We've got your six. 💙
