Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) strengthens the community by connecting donors to charities. After all, connecting people is what we do best.
ECF exists to help the people of Edmonton and area by encouraging philanthropy and funding charitable activities. Through contributions from donors, the Foundation assembles and administers permanent pools of capital so the returns can be perpetually reinvested in our community. The Foundation complements and supports other charitable agencies. We believe that with the right resources, it is possible to strengthen Edmonton’s community. That is why we have spent years building strong relationships with donors, charities, volunteers, and community leaders. These relationships help us identify trends and priority needs in our city. They also help us provide the right resources to the right people, projects, and places. Whether you’re looking for a student grant, funding for your charity’s latest project, or a trusted place to donate, ECF has what you need.
What can an investment in education make possible over 25 years?
Since 2001, the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards, in partnership with Edmonton Community Foundation, have supported Métis students pursuing post-secondary education through nearly 4,400 awards.
Former recipients are now building careers, supporting their communities and inspiring the next generation.

What does a window of opportunity look like?
Around here, it’s starting with 80 feet of colour. We partnered with Edmonton Mural Festival and Claire Estates to bring more joy, optimism and connection to this downtown space. Alixandra Jade Art & Design Co is bringing that vision to life with her signature florals, butterflies and a playful optical illusion that will melt into Edmonton’s skyline.
Her concept is designed to make people pause, look again and experience the street differently.
We hope this wall becomes more than something beautiful to see, but a place that sparks conversation, discovery and a little more connection to the city we share every single day. See it take shape at 10305 100 Ave NW.

What happens when young people help decide what gets funded?
Fresh ideas move forward.
As a member of ECF’s Young Edmonton Grants committee, Cayden Zhang helps review applications and guide funding decisions for youth-led projects across Edmonton.
In 2025, the committee directed $74,200 to 29 projects, supporting young people as they shape the community they want to see.
