Our annual Design Works Engineering Summer BBQ was a fantastic success!

From cheering on the Belgium vs. Spain soccer match, to firing up the grill, playing soccer, lawn games, and spending time with coworkers and their families, it was a day full of laughs, friendly competition, and great memories.

We're lucky to work alongside such an amazing team, and we're grateful to everyone who came out to make the day so special.

Happy Friday — we're sharing something we think is genuinely useful today.

A lot of projects don't go sideways because of one big mistake. They drift — a code classification that quietly shifts, a mechanical unit that grows after the ceiling height is already set, a permit requirement that surprises everyone at submission.

We use a simple 30-minute Friday check-in on every active project: scope and code alignment, coordination hot-spots, external approvals, and long-lead procurement. It wraps up with a one-page log so nothing disappears over the weekend.

No special software. No lengthy process. Just a consistent weekly habit — and it genuinely shortens permit paths and reduces the kind of redesigns that quietly double your drawing budget.
