Promoting and enhancing employment and/or learning opportunities for persons with disabilities. Please note that EmployAbilities is not a recruitment agency.

EmployAbilities is a community-based charitable non-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Active in Edmonton, Alberta since 1974, EmpoyAbilities serves people with disabilities and/or barriers to employment living in the Capital region and northern Alberta with a variety of programs and services. We also assist employers in finding staff that are ready, willing, and able to work - accessing an untapped market to fill their staffing needs. At EmployAbilities, we believe that community and economy are fundamentally intertwined, and that inclusive employment is the best way to build a stronger society and more profitable businesses. We measure success by assisting our clients in finding long-term meaningful employment, and work alongside allied organizations, government partners, and donors to raise awareness of the contributions people with people disabilities make to workplaces. We provide support for people with disabilities and barriers to employment. We provide resources that make them more employable, and help them find a job.

📣An important update about AccessAbility in Action.

But the Community Resource Fair is still happening! Join us October 15 at West Edmonton Mall to connect with employment and community service providers, learn about supports and opportunities, build your network, and meet the employers who have registered to attend.

Today, EmployAbilities observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Our offices are closed today, and we'll take that time to honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the communities affected by this dark history. Generation after generation.

Sometimes we can find it difficult to know how to respectfully commemorate this day, or even post about it in a significant way. But our team is committed to meaningful reconciliation. We invite our community to join us in learning and reflecting on the truth of our past, and lifting up Indigenous community and culture, and supporting Indigenous-led organizations whenever possible.
