This week’s progress:
✔️ Continued formwork for the leisure pool walls
✔️ Continued concrete pours for the leisure pool walls
✔️ Completed the concrete pour for the leisure pool slab
✔️ Continued forming and concrete pours for the competition pool gutter wall
✔️ Continued mechanical rough-in work in the second-floor mechanical room of the Aquatic Building
✔️ Began IMP installation on the new gymnasium
✔️ Began roof membrane installation on the east side of the new lobby
✔️ Continued roof membrane installation on the new gymnasium
✔️ Continued backfilling work in the natatorium change room area
✔️ Began backfilling work in the competition pool deck area
✔️ Continued parapet wall assembly and installation in the new arena
✔️ Completed rebar installation in the ice resurfacer room, with concrete pours to follow
✔️ Continued slab preparation for the perimeter slab of the ice rink
✔️ Continued overhead mechanical and electrical work in the new arena
✔️ Continued overhead mechanical rough-in work for the new arena corridor
✔️ Completed rebar installation at the new arena mezzanine level

Fall 2026 Yellowhead County Campground Update:

Bear Lake, Long Lake & Shining Bank campgrounds are now closed for the season.

Jerry Vanderwell Campground will be open until September 30.

Nojack & Beta campgrounds are open until October 31.

Starting October 1, you’ll be able to recycle more materials across Alberta, including County Transfer Stations!

Materials like glass containers of all types, foam packaging, aerosol cans, and more will be accepted at Transfer Stations. And you will no longer need to sort your recycling - everything goes in the same bin and will be sorted later at a facility!

PLUS: Residents in Evansburg and Wildwood will be able to recycle right at home with a new curbside recycling option! Simply fill up a see-through bag with accepted items for recycling and leave it outside to be gathered on collection days.

For both Evansburg and Wildwood residents:
- Your recycling will first be collected on October 14, 2026.
- Your collection schedule will be every second Wednesday.
- Please ensure your bags are set out by 7 a.m.

NOTE: There has been a delay in the mailout of recycling guides to the residents of Evansburg and Wildwood regarding curbside service, but those can be found at the above community-specific websites.

NOTICE: Range Road 124 Road Reconstruction (along Range Road 124, approximately 1.6km north from Township Road 560)

On behalf of Yellowhead County, Barsi Enterprises Ltd will be completing road reconstruction work along Range Road 124, including road widening, culvert replacement, grading, gravel surfacing, erosion control, and signage installation.

Single-lane closures will be in effect during daylight hours. Speed limits will be reduced to 50 km/hr through the work zones. Construction is scheduled from September 21 to October 31, 2026, weather permitting.

Please be aware of construction equipment, trucks, and workers in the area. Follow all posted construction signs and warnings.
