Westbury Machine

A single .ca checking fixture will be used to verify thousands of automotive parts.

Part of the reason why Canada is so competitive in the automotive manufacturing space is our commitment to quality — with over 120 years of history. The North American automotive industry was born in Canada in 1904 when the first large-scale production of automobiles opened its doors in Walkerville (Windsor) Ontario. Notably, in 1899, Le Roy Manufacturing Company had introduced the first gas-powered automobile manufactured in Canada — but they didn’t include a braking system. Without it, they were no match for the formidable Ford Motor Company which had success creating its Model C, Model T and later the Ford Monarch in Canada.

Met the talented youth gunning for gold in the international FIRST Robotics Competition. I spent the day with the high school team from Georgetown, FRC 4976: Revolt Robotics. They created an impressive pick-and-place robot.

Just in — the team made it to the world rounds and is going to compete in Houston, Texas. 🏆 Best of luck!

Westbury Machine’s looking forward to speaking with more students interested in machining, technology and innovation next year.
