Last Thursday, we launched our 2026 I Am Huron campaign: highlighting the positive impact immigrants and newcomers are having in our communities. We were grateful to be joined by Dr. Wayne Caldwell, who provided a keynote address on why immigration is key to the future of small towns and rural communities. We also celebrated 7 incredible individuals, who are making our communities better places to live through their work, volunteerism and community involvement.

Come join us in Brussels tomorrow evening for a Meet Your Neighbour Night at the Library. It's taking place at 7pm.

If you are newly retired, new parents, new to town, new to Canada, or just want to learn more about your community, drop into the Brussels Branch this Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. to meet your neighbours.

This event is hosted in partnership with Huron County Immigration Partnership to celebrate Welcoming Week, an annual event designed to bring people of all backgrounds together to foster understanding and belonging.

New to the Brussels Fall Fair? Join a Welcoming Week Tour! This family-friendly event brings together locals and visitors to celebrate rural life, featuring livestock, crops, and home crafts. Enjoy live musical entertainment, face-painting clowns, inflatables, and escape rooms, plus lively competitions in baking, quilting, gardening, and craft works. Ask for the tour at the entrance gate.
