Camp Kintail

🍁🍂 Camp Kintail was so happy to host this exceptionally fun student council trip! We had a blast with S.A.C from St. Mary's Catholic Secondary School - we hope you have a fantastic school year and hope to see you again next fall!

Thanks to our good friends at Knox, Stratford (and their interim preacher Heather Robinson) for donating craft supplies after a craft swap! The embroidery floss is always such a hit for friendship bracelets and pony beads for keychains are also a hot commodity! Scissors, glue, rulers, yarn, felt, all the classroom necessities are truly valued. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness, we will make sure wonderful things are created with these fun materials!

We hope you enjoy the change of colour, and have many opportunities to celebrate autumn in the weeks ahead! Hydra carved this "Lake Huron Sunset" pumpkin, and can't wait to share a picture of it all lit up on halloween!

Today, we join communities across Canada in honouring Orange Shirt Day. A day to remember the children who never came home, to honour the Survivors of residential schools, and to reflect on our role in healing.

At the same time that Camp Kintail was being created for joy and play, children in residential schools were being taken from their families and denied those same freedoms. We hold this truth with humility, and we commit to continuing to learn, listen, and walk this path of reconciliation.
