Decluttering clothes? Here’s an option to give your clothes a second chance!
Drop & Swap is one month away, so now’s the time to start setting aside the clothing you’re ready to pass along.
Take a look at your closet like you’re shopping it for someone else. What’s taking up space but never getting worn? What would you be excited to find if it showed up on a Drop & Swap rack?
Set those pieces aside and give them another life. ♻️

This past weekend I was invited to help an elderly client start her declutter journey. When our health impacts the ability to maintain our homes, the result can sometimes be unsafe and uncomfortable.
This client wants to be able to enjoy her home again, and we’re on our way to achieving that goal!
3 hours of sorting resulted in 5 garbage bags, my car full of donations, and a safer space.
A few more sessions and she’ll get her home “back”.
Gentle reminder - you didn’t accumulate all your stuff in one weekend, so please don’t set unrealistic goals of clearing it all in one weekend either.

The roller coaster of emotions experienced while decluttering can be exhausting. When you’re letting go of items that represent different versions of yourself, it can feel like you’re deleting. Framing the process as an edit, or making room for who you are now, is much kinder.

While the intentions were well and good to collect things that might one day be valuable, ultimately we know that most are not.

We were encouraged to believe that what we lovingly acquired and saved will be worth something, someday.
Accepting that “someday” might not ever come can be very sobering. Styles change and most importantly so do our priorities.
The windfall is not coming from that Beanie Baby stash that you saved, maybe even didn’t play with, or the limited edition commemorative plates your grandma bought.
Now, if your collection doesn’t negatively impact your day to day life, and you’re enjoying it, then absolutely keep on keepin’ on.
