September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters.

Join us to create an orange shirt origami. This is a drop in program for families and all ages. Tuesday, September 29th from 5:30 to 6:00 in the Linda Smith Story Room.

French Discussion Group returns on September 24th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Rotary Training Room.

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month to practice your French language skills in this free program hosted by the ACFA.

TRAC is moving our system servers to the cloud and will be offline for approximately 5 days, starting on September 25 and lasting until September 29. GPPL will remain opened for the duration of the upgrade, but will be running on limited services.

On Wednesday, September 30 we will be closed so staff can catch up on checkouts, returns, and other tasks caused by the server move.

Things to expect:

- A limit of 5 items per card for the duration of the outage.
- You MUST have your library card to borrow items, we will not be able to accept ID.
- You will not be able to create a new membership or renew an existing one.
- You can still pick up holds.
- Library of Things and the Toy Library will be unavailable.
- Online services will be impacted, see our website for details.
- The Lendery in the Clairmont Wellington Resource Centre will be unavailable.

Please hold on to your items and return them after October 1. All of your borrowed items will have the due dates extended automatically ahead of the outage (except for online materials).

Stop by before September 25 to stock up!

Register for Sketchbooks: Beginner's Guide on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Join other 8-12 year olds and learn about what exactly a sketchbook is and how to use it. Registration required, most supplies will be provided but feel free to bring along some of your own.

It's time to say farewell fossil. Come say goodbye to the pop-up display from the Royal Tyrrell Museum on Tuesday September 15th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm in the Rotary Community Room at the Grande Prairie Public Library.

All ages are welcome. Paint a model ammonite or dinosaur, test your skills and creativity with activity sheets made by the Royal Tyrrell Museum, and take a farewell photo with the display.
