Square Roots Guysborough

Thank you to all who came out this morning!!! Everything is gone today.

🥕🍎 GUYSBOROUGH… WE HAVE THE FOOD!

And by “we have the food,” I mean WE HAVE THE FOOD. 😂

It took the backs of TWO trucks, the backseat AND floor of one and after we packed every possible inch, there was still nowhere left for one lonely box of grapefruit.

So naturally… it rode home on my lap. 🍊😂

But we did it! Over 2,000 lbs of fresh fruits & vegetables are here in Guysborough and ready for tomorrow!

Now we just need YOU to come help us make it all disappear! 😂

📍 Cast Away Cafe — Guysborough Waterfront
📅 Saturday, September 19th
⏰ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Everyone is welcome and the produce is FREE!

See you tomorrow morning! ❤️

Dear Square Roots Guysborough Community,

After much thought, I have made the difficult decision to step away from Square Roots Guysborough.

This was not an easy decision, and it is something I have been contemplating since last spring. I have been trying to find a way to keep things going while also making the most of my family time. Spending many hours on Friday evenings and Saturdays has made it difficult to have the quality time with my school-aged children that I truly value.

I have spent just shy of three years building the Square Roots Guysborough community, and I am very sad to let it go. I will truly miss seeing everyone every couple weeks and having the chance to chat with you all.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who volunteered and helped the program grow. Without all of you, Square Roots Guysborough would never have been possible.

Thank you as well to everyone who supported the program—whether you came regularly to make purchases, made donations, volunteered your time, or simply shared our information with others.

A special thank you to the Guysborough Journal for their continued support and for consistently sharing information about our program and the impact it has had in our community.

Just because I am stepping away does not mean Square Roots Guysborough has to leave our community. If anyone, or another community group, is interested in taking over the program, I would be happy to help guide you through the process and share what I have learned over the past few years.

And last, but certainly not least, there will be one more Square Roots Guysborough event! Keep an eye on our page, as we will be sharing more information soon.

Thank you for all your support,

Rhonda Procure
