Lori Ridgeway Art

MANY things to do this weekend before I disappear for a week. Had an errand. Straight home. Except… why not take a little walk on the west side of our creek path? I rarely go that far.

Hmm. Leaves are a bit crappy this year. Looking for nice reds of course.

But THEN, I noticed that leaves were reflecting the sky. I had been looking but not seeing. Oh my God. Forget the reds I’ll take the blues!

Redid my whole walk all over again. Plus added some of our trail by our house. It was so exciting to see differently. 31/2 hours and 410 photos later.

I thought I might know my painting choices for this upcoming week but not any more. However, this one is a big candidate.

I’ve gone through 200 of the 410 so far. Exciting day!

I feel compelled to post this even though it’s not art. It’s a comment to Canadians from my personal FB.

Spreading reactions tonight.

The panic and indignation start.. ‘how dare Quebec vote for separation at a time like this!’

In my view, listening to others and some reading…

1. Quebec voted for a change of govt, not separation.
2. The popular vote was close between PQ and Liberals. PQ vote share increased as other popularity fell, not because they ignited Quebecers’ passion or imagination.
3. This is not a mandate for separation. They won with about 30% of voters and less than 20% Quebec population.
4. In fact no referendum is planned in near future esp when Trump U.S. in power. That was a PQ promise.
5. Any referendum is known to likely fail. 3/4 Quebeckers are against it. It’s a safe referendum. The PQ aren’t stupid. As Chantal Hebert said ‘We know how to say no’.
6. Carney has unprecedented, historical support in Quebec for any federal politician. He is more popular in Quebec that the new govt.

Don’t let ppl twist what this was a vote for.

Just That One Fleeting Moment
Oil, 42x42

When I see an unfinished painting on a wall setting, I can immediately see what needs fixing.

If it’s rainy tomorrow I can finish it.

Harvey Walker my memories from your place. They never stop giving.

Busy day. Finally had an hour late this afternoon. Back to familiar 42x42.

Enough of these 24x24s!
