A special release! Each egg is precious as it has potential. Whatever the odds we must keep trying. But we will be strategic to give turtles better odds. Keep in touch as we launch a campaign for our new TG nurseries starting with Gooderham in Ontario’s Highlands. Thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation we can build the envelope- and with your help we can set up the incubation station! Want to help out?

Ontario Trillium Foundation
Turtle Guardians has one of the longest running turtle road-population ecology studies across North America. We take measurements and data to assess how roads of different sizes and surrounding development patterns are affecting turtle populations over time. After 10 years of gathering data this year we are doing a comprehensive analysis of results to estimate trends and losses - but also to initiate solutions. We will be providing these results in reports which we will share with you here. Stick around for more!

A big shout out to Dr. Chris Dutton and the team at VCA Canada 404 Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Newmarket for their great work and care in finding answers for Bert and Ernie the twin common snapping turtles.
These rare twins have a thin thread of hope of they are to survive - However, we are doing our best to decide the most kind and humane course of actions for these little sentient special ones.

We are open this fall for turtle tours. Meet our 23 live animals. Tours are 45 minutes guided interpretive experiences. Interact with live turtles and learn how to pick up snapping turtles too.
Come in on Tuesdays and Fridays between 1-6 and Saturdays from 11-5. We are at 235 highland street, lower unit, in Haliburton village.
