Myth of the Day: “You shouldn’t work out when you’re pregnant”
For most people with an uncomplicated pregnancy, exercise can be an important part of preparing for pregnancy, labour and postpartum recovery.
4 reasons movement during pregnancy matters:
1️⃣ Build strength for labour
Pregnancy and labour place physical demands on the whole body. Maintaining strength can help build the physical capacity needed for different positions, movement and sustained effort during labour
2️⃣ Practice breathing + pressure management
Learning how to coordinate your breath, diaphragm, core and pelvic floor can help you develop awareness of how your body manages pressure, skills that can be useful during pregnancy, labour and postpartum
3️⃣ Maintain mobility + physical capacity
Regular movement can help you maintain strength, mobility and cardiovascular fitness as your body changes, supporting the physical demands of pregnancy and everyday life
4️⃣ Build a foundation for postpartum recovery
Maintaining appropriate strength and movement during pregnancy can help you stay connected to your body and create a foundation for gradually rebuilding capacity after birth
Of course, exercise should be prescribed to YOUR tolerance, experience and stage of pregnancy.
Your starting point matters. Your symptoms matter. Your goals matter.
And if you don’t know where to start? That’s what clinicians are for. 🤍
A pelvic health physiotherapist or qualified prenatal exercise professional can help you determine what is appropriate for you, what should be modified and how to progress as your body changes.
Pregnancy doesn’t mean stop moving. It means learning how to move with your changing body.

NAD⁺ is more than a wellness trend, it’s a molecule your cells rely on every day.
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) is a naturally occurring coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and cellular signalling. As we continue to learn more about NAD⁺ and its role in cellular health, NAD⁺ therapy has gained interest as an emerging wellness treatment, although research into its clinical benefits is still evolving.
