This week proved pack walks aren't one-size-fits-all — and that's exactly the point. We covered the South End, Spryfield, Ketch Harbour Road, Bedford, and out to Hatchet Lake, with Gracie, Indy, Ruby, Aussie, Fozzie, Zeus, and Harry putting in solid trail time. Luna, our resident pitbull, rotated through a different pack almost every day without missing a beat. Boarding kept Dani and Walter with us, and daycare had Bruno and Callie covered. A dog that can slot into a new group smoothly, regardless of breed, means that group is being read and matched properly — not just thrown together. Want your dog moving through the pack that easily? Two weeks in, and the Dartmouth crew already knows the routine.

Piper, Swayze, Winston, and Rossi were back out again this week, falling right into step with the regulars instead of needing a slow reintroduction. The rest of the pack kept its usual loop too, with Gracie, Indy, Ruby, Aussie, Fozzie, and Zeus covering the South End, Spryfield, and Ketch Harbour Road. Boarding had Dani and Walter staying with us, and daycare welcomed Callie and a longer stretch for Bruno.

Tip from 25 years of doing this: week two is the real test with a new walking group. Less fuss at pickup, faster settling on the trail, dogs moving like one pack instead of four.

Ever tell your dog to stay, then watch them break it the second you walk to the mailbox or someone knocks on the door? A stay that only holds while you're standing over them isn't really a stay. My Down-Stay guide builds it properly — duration, distance, and distraction — so it holds when it actually matters, not just in a quiet living room. It's $18.50 CAD, an instant PDF download, ready the moment you buy it. Grab it here: https://4pawshfx.ca/store

This is what a boarding stay with us actually looks like by the end of the day — not a kennel, not a backyard, but a real outing with the pack and then a good long rest on the rocks before heading home. Your dog gets the same walks, the same structure, and the same attention whether you're away for one night or two weeks. If you've got a trip coming up and you're already stressing about where your dog's going to stay, let's talk. Book boarding at 4pawshfx.ca.
