In recognition of National Seniors Day, Science Atlantic would like to recognize the senior and retired faculty members whose knowledge and expertise have contributed to and supported the Atlantic post-secondary science community.

If you are a senior or retired faculty member in the Atlantic region, please join us for our first online focus group on October 1 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. ADT. Share your experiences, input, and expertise as we build the curriculum for our Pilot Intergenerational Mentorship Program.

Registration and abstract submission are now open for the Atlantic Universities Geoscience Conference (AUGC)! The conference is taking place October 22 to 25 at the University of New Brunswick (Fredricton campus).

Important registration note: All registrations after September 30th, 2026, are considered late and therefore banquet dinner, dietary restrictions accommodations, field trip space, and delegate merchandise (like name tags, lanyards, and delegate bags) may not be available.

There are deadline updates for the Science Atlantic, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science conference (MSCS)! If you are planning to attend the banquet, you must register by September 22, 2026.

Note that you do not need to submit your abstract at the same time as when you register.

We’re hiring! Science Atlantic is seeking a non-profit finance professional to fill an ongoing, part-time contract as our sole financial officer.

Must Haves:

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in non-profit or charity financial management

- Proficiency with Sage Accounting software

- Able to travel within Halifax Regional Municipality for periodic in-person responsibilities

- Available at least weekly from August 1 to mid-September each year (virtually)

Start Date: October 1, 2026 (or sooner)
