“You can’t manage time, but you can control how you use it.”
We all receive the same number of hours, but we don’t all have the same energy, responsibilities, attention or capacity. Good time management isn’t about squeezing more into the day. It’s about being more intentional with the time and capacity you have.
Takeaway: Before adding something to your day, ask yourself, “What will this replace?” Time doesn’t expand simply because the list does.
This quote is from my chapter on time management in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴, available through booksellers and libraries.

You bought the planner. You made the list. You watched the videos, saved the organizing hacks, bought the bins, downloaded the app - and promised yourself that this time you were going to get organized. And somehow, three weeks later, you’re right back where you started.
What if the problem isn’t that you haven’t found the right system?
In my latest newsletter, I’m talking about chronic disorganization, why incredibly capable people can struggle with seemingly simple tasks, and why the answer isn’t always another colour-coded planner.
Sometimes the first step isn’t getting organized. It’s getting curious.

When Getting Organized Isn't the Problem Maybe you don't need another organizing system. Why understanding what gets in the way may matter more than finding another system.

We all know what a To-Do List is, but have you heard of a "worry list"?
No? Then read on as I talk about a "hack" that's making a huge difference for me - instead of writing down all my tasks and chores, I write down what's worrying me/taking my mental attention, and it's changing everything about how I prioritize my day.

The List You're Not Making (But Probably Should Be) Why a worry list may be more useful than your to-do list. I often encourage people to make lists.
