Halifax Public Libraries Union Local 14 has reached an agreement with our employer. This means that the strike is over, we are getting back to work and libraries branches will be open soon.

HPL and HRM Councillors say that the Library's offer is "fair to workers, and aligns with other union agreements representing public employees."

The issue is that, while in line with increases received by HRM's workers, our wages were already much less than workers in HRM. What the Union is asking for is fair and more than reasonable. The numbers speak for themselves.
