Platform X

Platform Stockholm is dedicated to the development of cultural production through collective participation in net-based systems to create shared resource initiatives. This artist run organization manages a large studio collective (110 artists, designers, writers etc) operates a gallery space for contemporary art and develops software for use in artistic institutions. Platform director Cameron MacLeod and local artist/administrator Melanie Colosimo are working towards opening a centre here in Halifax, NS. This space would provide 35 - 50 artist studios, along with a gallery/event space. So what's the hold for this much needed cultural hub? At this time all we are looking for approximately 10,000 sq ft to get started. However, as the issue always is in Halifax, finding space can prove to be a bit of a challenge. We are working with HRM and several other organizations in hopes to secure a location in 2014. This page is to generate interest, answer questions and keep potential tenants informed of our progress!
