BMO Ride for Cancer

Suzanne and Andy are a husband-and-wife team from the Valley, riding the 100km trail option in our BMO Ride for Cancer Grand Finale.

The couple, like so many of us, have felt the impact of cancer. In 2024, Andy went through treatment for hairy cell leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

They know personally how support during a cancer journey can be life-changing and motivating and are wholly dedicated to paying it forward.

“Our team is small, just the two of us to be exact, but I’m determined to give back to the hospital that saved Andy’s life,” says Suzanne. 💙 Read their story:

We’re so excited to welcome back Summit Airport Parking for our BMO Ride Grand Finale event to help make the BMO Ride finish line experience more accessible for our incredible spectators. 💙

On event day, October 3, 2026, Summit's Assisted Access Shuttle Service will ensure that spectators who may need some extra help reaching our finish line beyond the road closure have easy access to cheer on their riders.

On September 16, riders and donors rallied behind the first-ever NO LIMIT Match Day in the 12-year history of the QEII Foundation’s BMO Ride for Cancer, with every donation matched dollar-for-dollar by the J & W Murphy Foundation.

The result? More than 1,881 donations and an astounding $1,008,853 in one-day impact for cancer care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre — and one of the biggest fundraising match days in BMO Ride history.

“What our BMO Ride community and the J & W Murphy Foundation accomplished together is extraordinary,” says Susan Mullin, president and CEO of the QEII Foundation. “The Murphy family gave us an incredible opportunity to dream big and challenge our riders and their supporters to see just how much impact we could create together.”

📣 Hey, Riders! Our BMO Ride for Cancer Grand Finale is quickly approaching and event kit pick-up is just around the corner! All kit pick-ups will take place at our NEW QEII Foundation office, located at 7051 Bayers Road, Suite 301 (we've got plenty of free parking!)

Thursday, September 17 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, September 18 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
