Make sure you’re prepared before heading to Canada.

🇺🇸 For Yourself (U.S. Citizens)

Passport – Highly recommended for the smoothest crossing

Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) or Birth Certificate + Photo ID (passport still best)

Valid Driver’s License – required

Proof of Status – if you’re a Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)

🏎️ For Your Race Car & Equipment

Vehicle Ownership Docs: Title, registration, bill of sale, or logbook

Race Entry Proof: Event letter from the sanctioning body confirming participation and temporary import

Itemized List: All tools, parts, and equipment with country of origin & value

U.S. Customs Form 4455: Get this stamped when exiting the U.S. to ensure smooth re-entry

Vehicle Condition: Tow vehicle & trailer in good order and clear of recalls

Insurance: Confirm your policy covers Canada or obtain a non-resident insurance card

🛂 Border Crossing Procedures

Leaving the U.S.: Present equipment to CBP and get Form 4455 signed

Entering Canada: Provide event letter and itemized list to CBSA for temporary entry approval

Returning to the U.S.: Be ready to show Form 4455 and all documentation
