This happened today… and it happens often.

I could have easily sold the customer additional window panes and added hundreds of dollars to the invoice.

Instead, I told them they didn’t really need to add to the scope to solve their primary issue and saved them big time.

Could I have made more money on that job? Absolutely.

But I genuinely felt great about that decision.

One of the best sales lessons I was ever taught was simple:

Guide, don’t sell. Shoutout Ibrahim Hussein 🙏😉!

Sometimes doing the right thing means selling less.

And in the long run, I’ll take trust, happy customers, repeat business and referrals over a bigger invoice every time.

It’s not rocket science.
